The Waiting: 2005
An exhibition by socially concious Miami photographers of children long awaiting adoption
Fotomission and the Miami Children's Museum are proud to present a collaborative exhibition by socially conscious Miami photographers who are working to bring about positive changes in the area of adoption.
The exhibition, titled "The Waiting," features portraits of children who are currently up for adoption. The goal of the exhibition is to put a face on the issue of adoption and to create an opportunity for empathy and connection.
Often, older children who are up for adoption are overlooked, as people assume that they will soon be able to take care of themselves. However, these children still need families and love. They need someone to turn to with their concerns and their joys. The ultimate goal of this project is to find loving homes for these children.
The photographers have captured each child's unique personality in their portraits. The children's personal style, gestures, and facial expressions reveal their inner selves.
We hope that this exhibition will touch your heart and inspire you to reflect on the issue of adoption. There are many kind people in the world, and if they become aware of the need, great changes are possible.
